BAR SCREENS

Surface Flow Control is a manufacturer and supplier of culvert bar screens. Bar screens are designed to stop human and animal access to culvert interior while allowing water flow to continue uninterrupted.

Screen features:

• Galvanized finish

• 15mm round rod or rebar welded to band on one edge round

• 15mm round rod or rebar welded as mid support to each vertical member

• Spacing every 100mm as diameter increases

• 3mm x 50mm welded flat bar, rolled and welded

• Only four bolts in the entire structure; spaced at 2,4,8 and 10 o'clock

• Available in stock; exception being, large orders will require 7 to 10 days for Fabrication and galvanization

• Custom fabrication of bevelled end screens available.

 

BEVEL CUTS

Surface Flow Control provides bevel cutting service for our CSP Culvert pipe. 

Bevel cuts are diagonal cuts out of the pipe ends. The cuts can be a ratio of 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1.

The ratio of the cut is determined to match the slope of the ditch / road. Most commonly the ratio of the cut is 3:1.

 

CSP COUPLERS

Surface Flow control supplies CSP couplers. Couplers are connecting devices for CSP culvert. They are used to connect CSP pipe that has rerolled ends. (The end roll runs parallel to end cut, not spirally) 
We supply:

305mm Couplers; Size 150mm – 1400mm
610mm Couplers; Size 1600 – 3000mm

 

CSP CULVERTS

Service Flow Control is a supplier corrugated steel pipe (CSP) culvert.

Culverts are used to channel water. They may be used to allow water to pass underneath a road, railway, or embankment.

We supply:

Thickness: 1.6mm. Size: 150mm – 1200mm
Thickness: 2.0mm. Size: 300mm – 1800mm
Thickness: 2.8mm. Size: 450mm – 2400mm
Thickness: 3.5mm. Size: 1000mm – 3000mm

 

Surface flow offers cut to length and bevel cutting services for our CSP.

 

DIMPLE BANDS

Surface Flow Control is a supplier of dimple band couplers. A dimple band is used to connect CSP pipe that have ends cuts with spiral corrugation (or not rerolled ends) or a pipe with one rerolled end and one spiral rolled end. 

The band is a flat piece of steel that is folded around the pipe ends and attached with bolts.

DROP INLET

Surface Flow Control manufactures drop inlets. Our inlets are fabricated from CSP culvert and built on demand per spec.

Drop inlets are vertical drop structure manufactured from pipe or concrete used to collect surface water from a depression or a low spot that filters water to a main horizontal discharge pipe.

 

 

ELBOWS

Surface Flow Control fabricates Elbows to connect CSP culvert pipe.

Elbows are fabricated to connect and bend pipe line.

• 700mm and greater available. Built on demand.

22.5, 45 and 90 degree bends available.

 

FLANGED LIDS

Surface Flow Control manufactures flanged lids. Flanged lids are used to cap exposed culvert ends (typically of vertical orientation such as drop inlets) for safety and observation purposes.

We supply:

Flanged Lids; diameter size 150mm – 1200mm

• These lids are made with 3/16 or 1/4 inch thick steel. The flange is 2 inch tall made from 1/8 thick steel.

Flanged Lids; diameter size: 1400mm – 2200mm

• These lids are made with 3/8 inch thick steel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FLARED ENDS

Surface Flow Control supplies galvanized flared end sections.

Flared ends are used to direct inflow and outflow of culverts. The flared end provides a more structural presence to reduce erosion damage surrounding the culvert. The flared end is attached to culvert ends that have a straight cut; cannot be attached to a bevelled end.

Flared end sections; diameter size range: 300mm – 800mm

 

GRATER GUARD

The Grater Guard is a culvert accessory fabricated exclusively at Surface Flow Control. The Grater Guard is attached to exposed culvert ends and is designed specifically to protect culvert ends from grater blades.  The flared end design allows for structural stability in high water volume areas and the adjustable grate allows easy access to culvert inlet.

The Grater Guard also features the safety benefits of a structurally reinforced design that matches existing slope of ditch. If a vehicle were to enter ditch and hit the exposed culvert end, the Grater Guard would act as more of a slide rather than an obstacle.

HUGGER BANDS

Surface Flow Control supplies Hugger band coupling systems. 

A Hugger band is a steel coupler with rubber gaskets and a bar and strap connector with heavy duty bolts to make the joints as water tight as the pipe seams.  Installation of Hugger bands typically requires the use of a band puller.

We Supply:
Hugger band diameter range: 300mm – 1000mm

 

SHROUD

Surface Flow Control fabricates shroud culverts. A shroud is a length of corrugated steel pipe (CSP) that has been split lengthwise. The purpose of this fabrication is to wrap / protect an existing pipeline with the strength and durability of CSP. 

The shroud is fabricated by horizontally attaching angle iron on both top and bottom of CSP. The angle iron and culvert are both drilled and nuts and bolts attached to secure structure of corrugation; the culvert is then split into two pieces.  The angle iron will extend to approximately 1 foot from culvert ends, allowing space if couplers need to be attached for longer runs.

 

TEES

Surface Flow Control fabricates tee’s to connect CSP culvert pipe.

Tee’s are created at 90 degree outlets to split or add water flow to existing piping. We supply:

• Regular stock of 300mm – 600mm tees.

• 7000mm and greater available. Built on demand.

• Different sized pipe tee’s. E.g. 600mm X 600mm X 300mm.
