SEPTIC TANKS

The design of the tank incorporates two chambers, which are separated by means of a dividing wall that has openings located about midway between the floor and roof of the tank.

Wastewater enters the first chamber of the tank, allowing solids to settle and scum to float. The settled solids are digested, reducing the volume of solids. The liquid component flows through the dividing wall into the second chamber, where further settlement takes place.

CISTERNS

A cistern is waterproof receptacle for holding liquids, usually water. Cisterns are commonly used in areas where water is scarce and can be used to catch and store rainwater.

CHAMBERS

Infiltrator chambers are hollow structures that attach end-to-end. They are installed in trenches or beds without gravel (except where local codes require the use of gravel). The entire bottom of the trench is open for unobstructed infiltration of water.

The large storage volume within the hollow chambers accommodates peak flows of effluent from the home. Infiltrator chambers also feature patented sidewall louvers that allow lateral leaching of effluent into the soil.

GARAGE SUMPS

Garage sumps are concrete tanks built to hold water from the floor of a shop or garage in 2 compartments, one for the water and one that will take the oils and through a hole in the partition wall will allow the oil to be collected in one side. The tank comes with steel lids that can be perforated; the lids are built from 3/8 steel.

The tank is designed to be place in the ground at the desired location with the top edge of the tank flush with the concrete floor once it is poured around the tank, thus casting the tank firmly in place. Some tanks require a tank riser or extension to allow larger storage capacity, this riser is a concrete square that is sealed to the tank.

EXTENSIONS/RISERS

Extensions are used to extent the hole from a concrete tank to the surface level. Extensions can be used for both septic and holding tanks. Extensions are typically 4 feet of vertical length (at minimum) to allow burial depth of tank to remain below frost line.
